Isn't a black box enough?
No. In most editors a black box only covers text, which can still be copied out. This tool rebuilds each marked page as an image so the covered content is gone.
Can I still select text after redacting?
On pages you redacted, no. Pages you didn't mark are unchanged and stay searchable.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes, by drawing boxes by hand. Search only finds text that is actually in the PDF, which scanned pages don't have.
